Treatments

Getting your home treated usually takes less than a day. The preparation involves either trenching soil areas against the external walls of the home and or drilling concrete pathways against the external walls of your home. The trench is extended down the sides of the foundation and cleaned out. The chemical is applied as the soil is back filled. Holes are drilled through slabs and paths, or the concrete cut away to treat the ground beneath. The holes are resealed upon completion of the treatment. Pavers should be lifted, the soil treated and the pavers re-laid. Some soils such as heavy clays should be removed and replaced with a sandy loam before treatment.

Termidor

One of the major reasons for the success of Termidor lies in the unique “Transfer Effect.™” Termites are social insects that live together in large colonies. They groom and feed each other and are in constant contact as they forage for food and travel through the galleries. Termidor takes advantage of these social behaviours. When a single termite comes into contact with Termidor, it will unknowingly transfer it back to the colony on its body, including every termite it contacts on the way, thus infecting termites that have not even been near the Termidor treated zone. The more termites that come in direct contact with the chemical the better. This is the “Transfer Effect” and it’s a key reason why no other termiticide performs as well as Termidor. What makes ALTRISET different? The class of chemistry to which chlorantraniliprole (the active ingredient in ALTRISET) belongs was inspired by the insecticidal properties of a natural substance found in the trees and shrubs of the Ryania spp. It targets the insect muscles (other liquid termiticides affect the nervous system). Studies have proven that ALTRISET is very effective against termites, stopping them feeding within hours, which prevents any further damage to the property that is infested. Laboratory tests have shown that termites tunnel through the treated zone and quickly acquire a lethal dose of ALTRISET. Once affected by ALTRISET, termites will begin to exhibit increased aggregation, enhanced grooming and contact with other colony members for hours. Affected termites will become more lethargic and show signs of muscle paralysis; decreased coordination and mortality will ultimately occur within several days. The delayed mortality and increased colony interaction are key reasons why ALTRISET is so effective. Altriset
